Pressure relief valves control or maintain the pressure of a substance in a system. They do so through controlled release or limitation of the pressure. Their functions include pressure regulation to respond dynamically to changes in pressure and adapt the flow rate and pressure relief to safely drain excess fluids in order to prevent system overload.
